hold right or left while releasing bubbles to shoot them horizontally (they work a bit better)
This is my entry for the Fishing Jam #2 You play as a submersible catching alien fish in bubbles and sending them to the surface. The setting is the under ice sea on Jupiter's moon Europa. The bubbling mechanics were sort of inspired by Bubble Bobble.
It's playable but incomplete. After the jam the following will be updated:
- infinite scrolling background
- better collision detection
- flares/pulses to lure/repel certain fish
- max depth of 100km
- progressive difficulty
- more alien fish
- gfx polish
I'd like to give a big thank you to Sophie Houlden for hosting the event and Andrew Anderson for creating a very cool MIDI to P8 music convertor tool. Also thanks to for Erik Satie for the music used, Gnossiennes No. 3.
The Archive.ZIP file contains a standalone playable in-browser index.html file and a P8.PNG image that can be played on PICO-8.
For all the pocketCHIP'ers, it can't be 'splored yet but you can play it by entering this in terminal:
